  16. Such a great thread , we need some more I'm thinking..

Thanks for sharing, anymore Fuel Altereds? Such wild fantastic machines..

  17. if you are ever in the UK try and get here when there's a hill climb at prescott or shelsy walsh...or a VSCC (vintage sports car club) track meeting on somewhere....the cars are just incredable, some (as in alot) are road legal and some driven to and from the tracks..Aero engines, wooden chassis (really), no brakes other than a transmission brake, chain drive, 3 and 4 inch wide wheels and 100mph....fucking fanstastic!!

Can anyone suggest a date that this photo was taken?

How early were Hallock and Duvall windshields appearing on rods?

  21. Since it's color I'd guess mid 50's. Color film wasn't common till then because of the cost. Duvall w/s were around since the late 30's and I think Hallocks were late 40's .

I thought that picture was c. 1947. It appears in Robert Genat's Birth of Hot Rodding book, and the caption may say. If nobody's chimed in, I'll tell you when I get home.

    Thanks guys!
I was guessing pre-war or immediate post-war, but the color film was throwing me.
