Looks like a great start to a really fun car! Throttle linkage tip: just bolt the stock A set up on the trans (remember the shims between the trans and engine block) and position the body about 1/4" back and locate the body mounts. Worked fine on the "Stupid Car" 12 years ago- still going strong!

pops came and helped out a little bit, it was fun good to have him around, helping and grilling.

I was working on the body a little bit more today... trying to get it solid and square is no easy task, and welding old thin rusty metal sucks! but its fun and challenging... wont be long for this one, hopefully i will have the body solid in a day or 2 or by the weekend.

i plan to get the body solid and mounted, get a seat and some plywood in the floor. I have some 16 inch wires and bigs and littles (6.50 and 5.50) for it... Im gonna get it running and the brakes adjusted and dialed in and goooo... down the road ill get a speed head and an intake, or just put a flathead in it hahaha. o and im looking for a pickup bed for it. it will be a very early period, bare bones car... i d love to do it a little more fancy like 50s style, but im broke and cant afford chrome or anything nice haha. Im stoked though, nothing newer than like 36 on it for now i guess.

Nice ride, it will be fun. Just don't lean that windshield back too much.

And instruct the boy on the negative aspects of mechaical brakes...unless you're going to do hydraulics...I recommend them.
