I have a edelbrock pontiac intake S.P.2-P with the #3420 cast on the bottom. I cant seem to find it listed to find out exact fittment and power range, anybody know? thanks Gary
Gary...that will fit 1965-79 Pontiacs V8 all sizes...these SP2P intakes were from the 70s to 80s and they were supposed to boost economy and I guess power as well...looks like a good dual plane..I would run it...I am sure that type of manifold was geared to lower end port velocity and as such will probably be good from 2000-5000 rpm...not really meant as a high hp deal like a Torker or something like that...
Looks to me like the later one,Fits 326 up to 455 ,Really no horsepower gains ,If I remember right up to 5500 .
They were only meant to make power up to around 3500 rpm. The only advantage it's got over a stock '67-'72 intake is that it weighs less.
A decent factory iron manifold will out perform that nasty SP2P in every single way. Most hot rod guys shit can the stock intake first thing, but Pontiac actually made really good intakes. Good luck, -Abone. PS. Check out www.performanceyears.com for all the neat Pontiac stuff you ever wanted to know.
Amen to that, i'm running a 70 cast iron intake . Traded away an RPM for the carb work on my 800 q-jet.
