    Hi all-
I have finally gotten the approval of the township of Bear Creek, Pa, to clear the way for the 1st Pocono Drag Lodge reunion, to be held at the old track on August 23, 2009. This event will be a non judged , informal car show and get together. Sorry, we can't race, but there will be the "two cool shorts standing side by side" parade of cars, Bring your car, no matter what condition it's in, and lets have some fun. I need help putting this together, so help would be appreciated no matter how much you can help with. Please pass the word, and send me e-mail addresses and I'll add them to my list. Thanks for all the help, and special thanks to Ryan and the HAMB for letting me post this on the HAMB to get the word out!! Nominal admission charge to help me pay for this; tee shirts will be for sale also!

Hi all- yes by all means Invite the clubs, I'll make sure we can put 'em together. And also, bring your car, antique, stock car, race car restored, unrestored, basket case , on a trailer, anything. In keeping with the timeframe of the PDL, I'd like to keep the stuff 72 or older, but I'm not turning anyone away , for sure. Thanks for the overwhelming response!!!
Don't forget to get me your email addy!!!

Wally and everyone! In the true spirit of what made the Pocono Drag Lodge so great, "Bring whatcha got", like "run whatcha brung " back in the good old days. The only racing that will take place is "bench racing", since the track is not in good enough shape to race on, but the "2 cool shorts standing side by side" parade will be a trip thru memory lane!! If wally was to bring a race car to show, it would be great!!! BTW, I did goof on the original date, it will be august 22 with aug 23 as a possible rain date. More details to come after I meet with the track owner saturday. Thanks, everyone!!

  17. There are several Pocono threads on here, try a search and also Google.

  18. Do we have a street address for the track so HAMB'ers can Mapquest ?

I can drive by this weekend, but might be just box numbers up there.

The closest address looks like 601 Meadow Run Road, Bear Creek Township, Pa 18702
Just tell them to watch for the cell phone tower on the left side of the road, 0.6 miles from the traffic light (no longer a blinking light) on Rte 115.

Took this pic of the entrance road today:

Was the date chosen with the knowledge that it is the same weekend at the race at Maple Grove?

  26. Not sure why Charlie picked the date, I know he was aware of conflict. I thought I would take in Sunday at the grove on the way home.

  27. [IMG] One time Mac and I stood at the top of that hill while a jet dragster was headed toward us. When he got too close we made a beeline for those trees. Don't remember who the driver was but he had a good laugh at our expense. Funny part was we left Mac's Father's brand new 67 Impala convertible sitting in the shutdown area.
