Got the OD on the Saginaw 4 spd, got it installed in the Roadster, went on a "shake down run" to LARS and back with zero problems, am elated about its dependability. I was not able to hook/wire up the OD to make it functional as I cant find a PN for a GM "overdrive relay". It is a special relay for ODs only. Called local parts stores, CSK, AZ, Chevy dealership, NAPA and so on. No one could come up with a good PN or cross ref for the relay. Have went to local wrecking yards that might have OD vehs, but all that stuff has been long gone. The OD unit I have is a 66 thru 72 or so Chev 3spd unit. Some HAMBr out there has to have knowledge of this relay and PNs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also FWIW, I installed a "T & F Shifter" (Lebanon OR) on the 4spd. (Little over $400 with shipping) Comes up about an inch further back than a early Ford (32-39) shifter tower and shifts like a Hurst Comp Plus. Made a bracket to attach the Lokar floor mount parking brake on the right side of it, it works great too with little work to install and well worth the effort!!. Can provide photos in some one is interested.
See if someone can cross from a GM# 1115812. This is the only part # I found listed in one of our old paper catalogs for an O.D. relay. Listed as all 64 to 69 w/3spd trans.
A simple horn relay worked for me. When the car reaches about 26 mph the governor grounds to activate the relay sending 12v to the solenoid. Good luck, Frank
