hey people, we need a little assistance for an engine shoot we are doing that will appear in the next issue of trj. what we are doing is a mid sixties looking 289 smallblock ford. its shaping up pretty nicely and the article has a good angle on these engines. so far we have been able to take possesion of most of the good stuff, two four intake, carbs in a few different varieties, magneto, headers etc. what i need help with is i'm looking for the old style badger scoops for a four barrel. actually need two, they look pretty much like the two barrel version, only they fit a four. cal custom may have made them too. i dont have a picture, but if someone does, please post it. we are willing to buy, swap, or borrow them. we can work out a subscription or cash or however an agreement can be made... or donation to hamb! as far as i know they arent available on the aftermarket. any help would be greatly appreciated. you can call me at 650-246-8920, just let the people know your calling about the scoops. thanks, geoff miles oh yeah, deadline is over, so late next week is too late. and if you see aust, tell him i'm still waiting!
only way it gets done mah man... like you didnt know! you know anyone with those scoops, gotta be an early times influence yeah?
Wish I did. Heard someone talking about them the other day, i think it was on the HAMB. Seems like it was talk of new repros, but I can't remember. I'm going home- it's been a long day!
Just thought I would ask, where are our 50 Years of Rod and Customs book? Do you have any info? Thanks, Mike.
paul, how ratty is ratty? do you have any close up pics? if they would work would you be willing to loan them to us for a week or so? we may bomb down to san diego for the big 3, anyone down there no of any floating around. i guess these arent that popular, as i have called most of my sources and 1 reply on the hamb. any help will is greatly appreciated. geoff
A 289 article! I can't wait. I'd show you a pic of my crappy motor, but it ain't impressive in the least...
Just get yourself a pair of those old brass 3- mile island reactor looking velocity stacks. Damned nice collection of scoops there! Last ones I had, we used on a sunbeam with a Weiend dual hi-rise back in 73. Mine were different tho, the opening was different.
hey paul, thats what we're looking for, are you up for a loan or sale or swap or something? pm me your number and i'll call you, or call us here at the office on 650 246 8920. thanks, geoff
I've got a couple of actual badgers, they're kinda stinky but you can have 'em. But from what I understand y'all said, "Badgers? Badgers? We don't need no stinkin' badgers!!!!!"
Leadfoot, I just sent them an E mail asking the same question. Did they offer you a T-shirt for being patient? As soon as I hear from them,I'll post the answer.
