I would like to start a thread that show pics of indoor car show displays! You know Angel Hair, White Sand, from the wild to the mild.. I want to get an idea what displays looked like back in the day!! -COS
I'm thinking of putting my car in an upcoming show. i have never done it before and would like to see some more displays.

I always enjoy seeing the displays. It add to the shows. It is a lost art and I would love to see more too.
I don't have any picks, but man i remember the angel hair and mirrors that reflected all the different colors made by that electric light machine. I can't remember what it's called but it had a 12" wheel that was covered with different colored plastic and spun slowly with a light behind it....the 70's.
Back in the 70's I was a car show judge. Guys would put Angle Hair compleately around their car on the floor, I guess to make it look like it was floating on a cloud. They would get mad at us when they got their judging sheets, no undercarrage points but there was no way I'd lie down in that stuff to look under the car. You'ld be iching for days if you did! One guy spent a lot of time setting up this elaberate "western" theme display around his van. Got super mad at me when I told him he had to take it out before the show started. Don't know what he was thinking, He covered the floor with dried hay (back when you could still smoke in the convention centers) then used a barb wire fence for his ropes! I could just see people ripping legs on that wire (little kids!) or someone tossing a cig into that hay!
take a look at Royalshifter's thread....lots of neat photos! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=285678
Here's my fine39 at a mall show. I made and painted the stands, white rope from home depot. The place I work at did the sign board and the graphic picture. It looked good and didn't cost much. Mel
