pic request: LOW front ends with parallel leaf springs

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 30dodgeboy, Oct 15, 2006.

  1. Already did a search on this, but couldn't come up with much. Searched at the HCPU as well, but most cars there that had parallel leaf spring front suspension needed a ladder to get up into...

I am talking about leaf springs under the axle and... What other tricks are there besides a Z in the front of the frame???

Drop the axle. I had my '46 Chevy 1/2T dropped 4".

I cut the spring perches off and make new ones and weld them to the bottom of the axle. That allows me to place the axle on top of the springs. I've built 3 car that way recently. Each car has a Z'd frame too, cuz the axle pad change only provides about a 2-1/2" drop.
