Does anybody have pictures of Sandy Wachs' custom '56 Ford Pick-up or other pickup done in the same late 1950's kustom style? I'm looking for inspiration for my '58 Dodge D-100 project.
This is one of the only pictures I could find of that particular truck. The pictures don't have to be of '56 Fords. I'm just looking for tastefully done mild custom trucks. Here are a few others I've found... they're mostly from the Classic trucks website. I am particularly fond of these trucks...
I really like those flames. I'm kind of leaning towards a flat black with metallic lime green seaweed flames down the entire truck. But, I'm not sure yet.
I've got a few. They don't get much cooler than this one, in my opinion. The bed cover, upholstered running boards, short lakes pipes... I never cared much for canted headlights either until I saw this one.
That thing is gorgeous. Wasn't there a tech. article on how they fabricated those tail lights? I think I remember seeing that somewhere. Also, is that a Buick port hole in the hood? My Dodge has some hideous louvers in the side of the hood that were hidden by badges.
Here's a couple of my 56 and a 58 Apache I just finished pinstriping. I would label both as "mild" customs.
Not to hijack the thread, but what is going on in these wheel wells? Is that upholstery? machined? paint?!?
Thanks...... I considered solid black scallops w/red outlines, but like you said I liked the "clean" look.
Most of these trucks ... DO NOT NEED MUCH ... DONE ... to look good IMHO. Just a little lowering and nice, clean paint is ALL they need
Looks like machine turned panels of sheetmetal to me. You can buy these from places like McMaster-Carr today....very cool, but back in the day I suppose you had to make them yourself.
