If any of you photoshoppers are bored and feel like doing me a favor? I would like to see some small flames on the sides of my car behind the front wheels (can't decide if I want them or not). I would like them to look as period correct as possible. I know most of you are going to comment on it having no lake pipes - I should be getting some this winter for xmas hopefully.

I have to agree no flames looks better the way it is. If you want to add something maybe some Merc side spears on the quarter bulges, and some nice looking side trim.

I think you guys may be right. Anybody repopping the merc spears or do I have to hit the swap meets. Uptown joe - I really dig the scallops! Would still like to see another flame job.
    Thanks guys
    Chris
Ron, I'm not sure but you may have been the guy who sent me a distributor rotor clip I needed off of Fordbarn. Can't really remember now but thanks if you did.

  9. I'm voting for the merc spears and lakers. Does it already have '56 Olds taillights? You can get the spears at nightcrawlers, I think.

Those spears look great! They're subtle, but custom. I like those better than flames on that car.

Yeah I have the olds lights on there already. I think you mean Nightprowlers. I did the same thing before. Kept doing a search for Nightcrawlers and all I kept getting was worm wholesalers. Doh!

I know how you feel. I was thinkin I should put scallops on my ride but when I asked for honest oponions ... the idea was turned down by a landslide. I guess that's what we get when we ask. [IMG]

Hey Chris, why flames now? Are you thinking of keeping it or looking for something to spice it up for quicker sale?

Similarly, when I was trying to sell my '46 that no one wanted, I was kicking around all sorts of ideas to give the "look" so someone HAD to have it and was 24 hours away from blowing it completely apart. Before I even knew what happened, this kid bought it.

I still think you should keep it though. [IMG]

I was wondering hoe long it was gonna take for you to see this. I actually came to my senses and decided to keep it. I had it on ebay and concelled the auction early. Realized I had too much time into it and that I would be kickin myself in the ass next summer, especially if I didn't have anything to drive to next year's pileup. I decided no flames or scallops. Stright black with some lakers and maybe some subtle striping.
