Here it is again ...........My 1967 Impala w/Hydraulics on it, 14" Supremes on order....
I need help with the paint.......... I love flames and scallops maybe even mixing the two....... I would like the roof flaked and doing the body suede but all ideas and schemes would be appreciated
Can some of you photochoppers give me some ideas on the paint scheme:D ?

I like it just the way it sits, although astro's are going to look really nice. The green paintjob is really clean, are you sure you want to change it? I'd like to see what it's going to look like with just the wheels on it. I don't know if I'd do anything else.

I gotta agree-maybe shave the handles and be done. If you want to paint it, fadeaway would be great-too round for panels, too late for scallops. If you flame it, that goes in a totally different direction-foward rake, big meats in the back and Foghat blastin' from your 8-track:D

PS-This was the year/model that my Dad/brother had and made me want an Impala.

i agree it looks good like it is,shave the handles, any emblims, trunk key hole, any your getting into the paint any way.so how about a faded blended paint job "windfield"style.what ever you do dont rush it .do alot of thinking before you jump.do some mild body mods roll it like it is for a minute.a kustom grill would be in order as well.

is the paint any good? if it's at all usable, i'd go for some silver flake on the roof, or maybe a few lace panels. if you really want to be traditional, check out the very early Low Rider magazines, when 13'' cragars and sportway premiums ruled (pre dayton-era for sure)...

  8. I did the supremes, but the scallops aren't really scallops. They follow the Coke bottle shape a little more than regualr scallops could.[IMG]

That car has lines that are poorly served by scallops or flames, in my mind. I had a 66 and was left thinking that the body lines speak for themselves. Adding to the body lines just seems too busy to me.

A fade might be nice though. Perhaps a nice pearl, to show off what it already there?

That is exactly what I am talking about. It's subtle, but highlights the drama of the existing body lines. Pearl or suede will play with light on the quarter panels and hood - to really show off the cars peaks and curves...

I agree on the fade like on that gold car you posted. That would look sweet.

I agree that the car is ultra-badass just as it sits.
Since you asked for some input I thought I'd give it a whirl.

Seeing as the car is juiced I thought it might be cool on Cragars with some purple fodgged panels. A little more late-60s "dawn of lowrider" style.

Gambino Kustoms, the same guy who's told you to paint the car with a windfield style is responsible for this great paint scheme. Ever since I saw this car I've been a fan.

I personally prefer late 60's Impalas in gloss paint. If you're gonna go all out, I suggest what others have already and research the old Lowrider Mags.

    Good Luck.

Not sure if it is the color you are looking for. You are going to repaint the whole thing since there is damage on the other side that needs repair right?

I like that last one...I think lose the exhaust tips and run bellflowers. Reminds me of a lowrider mag from the seventies...it had an awesome panel paint job on some early sixties impala.....with a rusty old tailpipe and tip (I know yours is not rusty...just reminded me of that)
