Like Jello, there is always room for another speedster.

So true...but what is it? Unusual being left-hand drive, unless the negative has been flipped.

Before refrigerators there were ice boxes and the ice man. And before tarmac and street sweeping trucks, there were dusty streets and the watering rig. Both have a/c, and rear wheel brakes.

Cannuck-I think you're on the right track. Your eyes are better than mine-I can't tell what plate that is. It is definately a 1909-11, but I was thinking it may be a Tourabout because of the canvas on the rear door (or doorway).

Much better, I guess. I still don't know what it is, though.

Sorry to bring back this old post, but the white car is a Model 10 Buick, which was produced 1908-1910. It's unlikely that they made a new car into a racer (especially a small one like this) so I'd guess the photo is from the 1909-11 period. Certainly no earlier than 1908.

Enough of my non-photo posts. Here are a few Curved Dash Oldsmobiles.

Not at all - if there is one thing to be taken away from the pre-war racing history thread, it is that textbooks, newspaper accounts, and even historical archives are riddled with errors. Threads with many followers who speak up are one way to debunk some of these sources.

Just another car with a flat. I am amazed how many people took photos of this, as though it was a Kodak moment to be treasured for years to come. Check out the road surface, which appears to be wooden decking on a bridge. Great spot for a flat (or is there such a thing?).

The one on the left looks like Devil's Den, Gettysburg. Popular site for posed car photos. Here's a mystery car for you guys to ponder.

1913 Buick Model 31. I would have seen it sooner, but I was working on on my 1913 Buick Model 30. How about that?
Here's a similar car-different sidelights. The one with the flat has been updated with electric lights.

If it wasn't for the large emblem/name plate on the top radiator tank, I'd guess Thomas. Don't know.

How about these 2? Both taken in the same spot in Rhode Island-note the nice striped awning in the background. I think I know someone with the matching pants.

I just found this great early Marmon photo on ebay. I think maybe I'll wear a tie next time I go racing, too.

T6-similar emblem to the mystery photo you posted, but yours doesn't have the distinctive Marmon rear hubs.

Minute service stations. Back when "minute" referred to time...

I'd wear the striped tie from that Rhode Island guy, if it meant I could race in that. Here are some bug eyed rascals. On the left, I think this is a Kissel goldbug. Mystery rig on right. Both with massive Westinghouse air shocks.

And remember, in hot weather, do not leave your infant unattended on top of the engine compartment...

EG.....I think this is a 1912-13 CINO 50 HP....They were made in Cincinnati and were very high quality.....They were also raced and in 44 starts they won 32 prizes. The Company also made a 60 HP six......

T6 I think you are right about the Kissel Gold Bug......

Reminds me of us when we were kids...... T6 is the one wearing the dress with the backpack...... That backpack was filled with car photos way back then......

That's a smock, not a dress. And what's up with that headlamp 90 degrees out?

Hey, remember this from our youth? EG was driving, I was on top of the red hot engine compartment (check my smock), and you were pushing us to the nearest gas station. Come to think of it, you were pretty clean shaven and respectable back then...

More scenes from last weekends board meeting.....The first T6 trying to impress everyone with his knowledge of old cars......The second photo shows his ride.......The last photo shows mine which at least has an engine but needs a little perfecting.....

Just stumbled across this one--1910 Winton (obviously). I like the dealership sign--how many Moon dealers would there have been back then?

Third series twin six at the pumps. Location unknown but likely California. Canopies we see over pumps today are nothing new.

Probably as many Moon dealers as Winton dealers.....ok maybe not quite that many. Very cool photo.
