It is a very neat show and worth going once, but calling it the best show in the world is a bit of a stretch. And $350.00 is deceptive. It's a lot bigger investment than just buying one single admission ticket.

Any upper level concours is a worthy show to attend. There's something there for every taste in most cases, but Pebble beach is probably the most "important" show in the country. As was mentioned above it's awards are truly something that lends provenance to a car's history. I have bad opinions of some concours events too but they do it right out there. I know the Classic Cars and other historically significant cars past CCCA definitions are judged 1st. They have to be within a single-digit percentage of a 1st place (100 pt system) to be considered for a concours award. Not sure how they'd judge a custom or hot rod but they surely have a board or judges who know what they're looking at. $350 is a lot of money for a ticket and not many understand it, even I don't to some degree, but knowing what's there is right and real means a lot. I was there once, have had 4 cars in competition over the years, 1 a 3rd place in class, 1 (I've been told many times) was a 1st. The other 2 were simply there which still says something. I'll go back some day soon. They may not let my hoodlum ass though:eek:
