I want to change the color of my 32 frame, now single stage concept. Want to paint it a little darker red. Can I just scuff it and repaint?

Yes, wet sand it with 400 and 600 and use a clear or color sealer then color.

  3. Like Todd said. Sealer is important. A lot of guys skip that step.

If the current paint is fully cured AND you use the exact same product you'll probably be okay if you follow the "recoat" instructions on the can...after you've scuffed/sanded and thoroughly cleaned the surface. A sealer would still be a great idea.

Otherwise...contact the manufacturer of the current paint and ask for instructions. Why come here and get opinions when you can go to the manufacturer and get information that will work for you? Good luck.

Use Epoxy Primer mixed as a Sealer - Two Coats and you'll be fine.
