So the missus and I bought this '40 deluxe coupe (avitar) this year. Neither of us are spring chickens and we now lease a condo due to her health issues so no shop to build anything and our Model A pickup was just too danged small for my arthritis. We love the car, put a 1000 miles on it since April. But the paint, which looks great from 20' is really in bad shape. Cracking, flaking off,etc. I even tried the Megauirs #7 to "feed" the paint but the wiping process left the rag with black paint specs every time. Bottom line is I am looking for a reliable paint shop in ME or NH to strip and repaint the car this winter. Two issues, a quality paint job and adherance to a mutually agreed to schedule for completion. And I know it won't be cheap but I am almost 72 with a lot of asbestos in my lungs from submarine engine rooms in the 1960s so this is probably my last rodeo. And for those who say "use the HAMB search", recommendations for shops from 2012 is not what I want as owners/shops change so looking for up to date info. Thanks in advance to everyone.
Talk to Jay at Auto Body Specialist in Manchester NH. Does great work and as far as I know hits his deadlines. Here is a link to his shop. http://www.autobspec.com/ He has the cleanest body shop I've ever been in.
