I did a rendering for you a while back with two tone silver and black so I thought we could take a look at all silver....
When I build mine first I decide on an era that I'm gonna aim for, and then go from there. A car built and painted in the early to mid 50's style wouldn't use same color palette as a 60's style car IMO. My model A coupe was 50's style, my Convertible a bit later like later 50's to early 60's and my 40' was built to be 60's style. You can get a good idea by watching the colors of the new cars change over the years from mostly darker non metallics, then brighter metallics and then with pearls too. But most importantly pick a color that YOU like.
How about light grey , all one color then use some accent color for the interior , wheels etc. I received a lot of compliments on mine for the choice of color.
Moose Thank you for that, if you don't mind could you throw dark grays, browns, maybe some blues Terry Sent from my iPhone using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I like what Jim Jacobs did with his '29 Model A panel truck. Yes, two-toned with black fenders. Perhaps some of the "experts" on here should contact him and tell him he doesn't know the proper way to build a hot rod.
I went with Ford red ( from tractor supply) if it had fenders, yuck, they would be a darker red. Sent from my SM-G930V using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Did anybody say Titie Pink & Ashole Brown Just Paint it what ever you Want! Just my 3.5 cents Live Learn & Die a Fool
I like "The Moose Blue" too. But I would be wary of flat or satin finishes, (if that is the case in Moose's pic). Also, it seems that blue (my favorite color) looks great when it's nice, but looks awful if the car is allowed to go down a little. And only two things are brown in my world-dirt and poop. JMO. That dark gray looks really good too.
Asking the opinion of 200,000 people on a purely subjective matter could get you the net result of being further confused and undecided then when you began. Here's opinion 200,001-Make a decision based on what You Like-then stick to it!
oh trust me i will but it is good to hear lots of different opinions and, see what others have done i was always into the muscle cars and in the last couple of years getting into this older stuff and truly am lost but, I'm am really enjoying it and learning THANK YOU ALL FOR THE FEED BACK
As I see it there are 5 major components that really make a nice car. In order of importance; 1. Paint 2. Interior 3. Drive train 4. Tires and wheels 5. Paint Don't skimp on items 1 and 5.
If the car in your avatar is the one you are thinking of painting, why? It looks great in that color, just needs something done with the wheels to make them pop a little more. Are you just changing it for change sake or is the paint dying? That's a nice little car, makes me wish mine was full fendered.
Oh yeah, and chrome the windshield frame and stanchions....... It'll look like it's straight out of a late '50s HRM.
yes this is the car it was in a building sense 1965 and the moisture and the critters kind of did a number on the bottom area's of the car like the rumble lid for one the front fenders running boards, all of the interior was junk along with a few other issue's in the beginning the plan was to get it running and road worthy but, one thing let to another and, the whole car was taken apart and going thru from bottom to top, front to back, floor's were pretty much rusted away the pic is after i gutted and pressure washed it all out
