    Saw this announcement that there will be a no-reserve auction for more than 1000 vintage automotive signs, memorabilia, and vintage parts from the Bob McDorman sign collection.

    Sorry to see it broken up as it's an amazing collection. Love the 24' tall Oldsmobile Rocket sign.

    He was a Chevrolet dealer. I wonder how many of those he ordered over the years, and just never installed at his dealership? Probably could write them off as advertising too!
    VERY nice collection regardless though!

    I hadn't thought about that..... I know sometimes the sign stays the property of the company and you lease them from the company producing them.

    It'll be interesting to see how strong they sell with the economy still a little iffy.

    I bought one of my trucks from them years ago. I wonder if they are one of the dealerships GM dropped.

    Really like the Stewart-Warner Instrument sign.
