Nice set of pics, really brings back some memories. The one shot, taken from behind the driver's location where the rear end housing is swiss cheesed full of holes, reminds me of an altered from Modifications Unlimited in Delaware back in the day which was built without a reservoir for rear end lube and used an application of open gear grease on the ring/pinion for each pass. If my somewhat sketchy memory serves me, I think it had a Fiat body. Anyone else remember that drag car? I sadly missed Orange this year but will circle it as a must do for 2011.

Awesome!!! That first '32 is really tugging at my heart. I am way into drag inspired '32 coupes.

  10. Great pics Mark;thanks for posting them.In pic # 2845 that striping looks like the work of Don Penttilla who used to work out of a shop in West Sutton.Do you know if he is still striping? He used to do a lot of gold leaf work and was the first person I knew to paint up panels(on pieces of old wood)and decorate them to sell at shows.I still have 3 that I bought from him back in the early 70's.Here are two of them.

and best for last. the nomads as a club are super important in this neck of the woods for all they contributed to making hot rodding what it is today.

Excellent work -- don't worry about the timing. After being back in Texas a few days, both those shows are already a blur in my memory so I REALLY enjoyed the photos especially the "art" shots. Flipper reflection, Chrysler hoodie, etc.
I spent so much time visiting with folks I had not seen in a few years that my photos are not much. Nothing different than what has been posted.
If I find something cool when I look at mine closer I might PM it to ya.

    thanks ray.

i don't know much about the piston manglers car. i know that a man named Dick Kiusalis owns it now. he lives on the cape, is a custom furniture maker. it certainly looks like the same hand as the one in your pics. must be don's work. i'll see Dick again at the gathering of the faithful next month. i'll ask more about the history on the car. i thought that it was a club car though, that members could use if their car was in the shop or something like that.

Here are a few shots from Ty-Rods. I was too excited and forgot my camera at Orange!
Sorry about the thumbnails but it is the only way I know to post pictures.
Some of these cars have been posted before but I tried to only include ones no one else put on here or some that are repeats are just cars I really, really dug!
