is his and only his. Kustombuilder and myself went to a small junk yard north of Greenville , Mi today . It was a place we had stoped at last summer but no one was there . This time the old guy that ran the place was there but he fed us a line about all of his stuff being crushed already and that there was nothing left to look at . That was kind of funny considering we could see hundreds of cars behind the fence while we were driving down the road .O well, we went down the road to another yard we had been to before to take a look around . We found a few cool items including these.
Yea seems like a lot of hordin' and or crushin' goin on these days. I know that everything I got is gold. I know where there is an old Dodge truck (say late 30s early 40s) been rotten away in a field since who knows when (20 years that I know of) and the old guy is always gonna get it goin' again someday. I still see it when I go to the ozarks, don't even know iof the old guy is still around.
this is a real life junk yard with lots of late model stuff, they just happen to have a bunch of older stuff in the back. some late fifties stuff but not much of anything older than that save for a couple. i'm so pissed that the guy at the other yard would'nt let us look around. i drove an hour and a half to get there. i have a friend who has bought many things from this guy over the years. he acted real suspicious of us, told us he had it all crushed (BULLSHIT! cause we could see it all from the road), then went on and on and on about the government and big business. you could tell he does'nt get out much. thing is he had the roof section i need to complete Donzie's chop. i'll have to see if i can get my other friend to go up there with me...
[ QUOTE ] 40 or 41 Pontiac gauge cluster...fits right in a 26 T dash. Tim MBL [/ QUOTE ] might fit right in the FnA dash after a rebuild and rechrome job!!
Cool post! Love the 'salvage yard' tour's. Pick up anything and stash it. Will be showing some find's and score's when scan is purchased.

A few weeks ago, a buddy and me drove about an hour and a half to go to a yard. The yard once had about 120 acres of 30s-70s stuff and was well organized. The sad part is that the owner died and his grand-daughter got it. However, being that she was an alcoholic, she crushed every bit of it. When I was told this I almost vomitted. There wasn't a single car left.
Mongo, you midevil dick weed. How is it everytime you go to a yard I find out about it on here after you have already went. I am your only brother and you never tell me crap. How am I ever going to find a project If you never invite me along?
Hey, that instrument cluster is the same as the one I posted on here the other day ! Am going to run mine in the '30 roadster. Am trying to find out the exact year so I can get some old instruments to fit, decided against running new ones behind it. Cheers and beers Jimbob
I don't know what these old guys who own junkyards think. Don't want to sell things anymore. Just came back from Connecticut where a friend showed me a junk yard that is owned by an old drunk. Lots of 50's and 60's cars. Won't sell anything unless he need money for a bottle. First thing you know he will kick the bucket and everything will get crushed

It's probably just easier and more profitable to crush the things get paid, rather than letting someone go in and pull parts. Less liability, too, I'd assume. Keep in mind, this is just my speculation...
