With so many old Fords being wrecked in the races and in the demolition derbies, no wonder the prices for Henry's original tin is so high. That's why cheap ol' me drives a Mopar. :D :D

Guess I'm just not cool, cause these pictures cause me serious pain. Cripes, it used to bother me in the '70s when i would see '63/'64 Galaxies getting destroyed in the local demo derbies. Everybody thought I was nuts, now half those same guys would kill for a fastback galaxy. I'm glad I didnt have to see this happen.

I used to work with an old carpenter who said he and his buddies used to buy up old fords then cut the tops off with a hacksaw and run them to death as field/timber bombs. they were just old junkers to them!

Back in the 60's you didn't dare sit next to my Mother during a "Stock Car" race at the local dirt tracks -Her arms were swing and she was screaming - Only thing worse was the night she found out I was driving an old jalopy at 15.

I remember taking a clean 40 Ford coupe and building a hobby stock car out of it in 1968. It got pushed off the end of North Star speedway the first night out. It did 3 end over ends and landed on its wheels without hurting the body. The driver got a broken left arm and 6 broken ribs. We hauled it back to the farm and lifted the body off my 36 Chev street rod and was back the next Friday night. Both were powered by Buicks, the 39 had a 3 speed and the Chev had a dynaflush. The driver finished 3rd in the feature event that night and third in the season driving one handed with the dyna flush trany. I miss those days.
