Step Van 1959 Chevy Split Shifters Lunatic Asylum #1.jpg The Split Shifters C.C. Lunatic Asylum step van has 19.5" wheels.

I'd like to run 16" in the front to give it the Big-N-little raked look View attachment 4481495 .

It has 12" drums. Will 16"or 17” Bud type wheels fit.

The lugs are 8 on a 6-1/2" circle and 1/2 diameter lugs.

The wheels are hub piloted or hub centric with a 4.55" hub hole.

They have a back space of 7-1/2"

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THERE'S A WHEEL THAT WILL FIT?

They've been no help so far. I asked days ago.

  4. I used a 16 as a spare for a 19.5 once. Should work.
    This has 16s and 19.5s

Pull one front wheel off and see if it had a spacer/ adapter on it. Sometimes you can remove that and a regular 3/4 ton 16 inch wheel will bolt on . Again sometimes. Check first.

It looks like you have a different style wheel that mounts with a clamp ring. Is that what I'm seeing?

I have one wheel off now to access a generator to alternator conversion and there is no adapter and no hub pilot hole adapter.

  8. Yep
But this is for a reference.
The truck I used the 16 for a spare was a drum brake 1ton that had 19.5s originally and no outside ring on the hub

  9. What chassis is the van?
Gm Ford and dodge had similar bolt patterns but different center hubs. Gm had a smaller hub than the ford and dodge. Not sure about internationals.

OK, Anthony, that's a start. Now I have to find a hub piloted wheel with a 4.5" hub hole.

    Are they hub piloted?

  14. Yes. I'm pretty sure all GM 1 ton 16" wheels are hub piloted up till the 1990's at least, maybe newer.
Not sure if the center hole diameter stayed the same over the years, so check that carefully.

  15. Ive got lots of those wheels even some 17.5 some with 8 lug some 10 and even some 16 inch with 6 lugs. both tubeless and split rims.I bet I could find some that would fit your front drum brakes. Its disk brakes that is much harder to get wheels that clear.

All the wheels I'm finding from wheel dealers have large hub holes.

  17. you may have to change the lug nuts and convert to a stud pilot wheel.

Lug nuts are no big deal if that's a safe option.
