Thanks man. Me too !!
You are correct. Thanks.
WOW!!!! 8 years old? Very cool, Iceman. Thanks.
You'll have to ask customcory, Doug!
Cool thread...subscribed. Brings back memories!! Looking forward to see the final product.
Thanks man. Hope you have an abundance of patience.
Soooo.......what did you finally decide for the tail lights? Any mock up picks?
Yup Brerhair, You called that one . If we had that kind of virgin tin up here we wouldnt know what to do with all our time as we wouldnt have to spend countless hours rebuilding rusty pieces of shit . LOL! We likely would go into shock !!! <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
Waiting on the shoebox lights from sunny California. Soon. Patience . . .
Going to extend the quarters any with the shoebox tails?
Just wanted to show some love.
I wish I had somthing to send south to ad to the project.
Great idea, but . . . hell, no!! We've bit off a large enough chunk already!
Thanks, Jeff. In a build funk right now, but hang in there, we're coming back within a month or two.
Cool as can be.I am in the same boat as you with being older and having young kids.Im 40 and my son is 4.Sometimes I wish we would have had kids younger, but I dont think I would have been a paitient and thoughtful with him as I am now.I truly know what you mean by "These are the good old days".Keep up the great work.
I need the panels between the rear quater window and back window for my car.It is the body line that holds the belt line moulding.Any chance there is another car in that junk yard that I could cut a piece off of?
Place isn't that big, but you might get lucky. Precious Metals junkyard, owned by Roger Branham 803-337-2888.
On US 21 just north of Blythewood, SC.
great threat i,m enjoing every bit off it keep up the great work
You outta that funk yet...summers coming!!
Brerhair...get some work done on that car!
Don't have us come over there.... LoL
Hahaha! Nice work, Steve. As if I don't feel like enough of a slacker watching you Canadians work, you gotta gang up on me!
Seriously, this is one of the many awesome things about Ryan's World. Now I have been shamed back into action! No more funk, I'm coming back! (But not tonight, I have a Buildings & Grounds Committee meeting at the church in 25 minutes.)
its time for both of us to get our butts back to work! And I still wanna see those tail lights mocked up!
Great thread! All that dirt brings back fond memories. Your son gives me some hope for our future. Thanks
Thats right boys enough excuses . The fine weather is starting to come into view and you wont be viewing it from inside those Chevs if things dont change . Get off your asses !!!
Yeah- trying to finish up dealing with this basement flood so that I can get back out to the garage on my '51.
On the positive side- no Hot Wheels, Model Cars, or Shooting supplies were damaged in the flood. Lost some good car magazines, though.
Shit, in NC it must be summer already
What a project for a dad and his son.I helped my dad restore his 53 210 Club Coupe 30 years ago.If you want to hop up a "6",use a 54 and up version. They have a full pressure oiling system. You can't beat the sound of an inline with pipes.Good Luck on this.
I know where those cars are! Where are you in Charlotte?
I have seen several 4 door chevys in the pull a part in Columbia, sc. You should check in there.
Wow, great thread!
At least you have a good excuse, Rob. I'm having a hard time climbing out of the "life gets in the way" hole. Like Merle says . . . "It's a big job just gettin' by with nine kids and a wife . . ." OK, so I only have 4 (3 still at home).
Should get the taillights this next week. Slow boat from California.
Thanks for the kind words.
Sorry, Andy. Some of us Southern boys can get real slack. But thanks for the encouragement.
Damn, sorry to hear about that. Another good excuse.
Just keep piling on there, Steve! Been mowing the lawn every week for a month now. Seriously, thanks for the pestering, one of these days (soon) it will take.
You are correct, sir. We keep learning, absorbing, evolving. Had it to do over, that is what I'd do. Thanks.
I'm in S. Charlotte next to Pineville. PM me the Columbia yard, if you please. Thanks.
Thanks. Now, chopped '51, that is what we'd like. Just can't bite off any more on this project.
Looking good man. I would have seen all the rust and moved on. You and your son will be very proud when you finish. I was building mine in the garage and my son would walk by and not offer any help, on his way to hang out with his freinds. Now that it is on the road he asks every couple days "Dad, when do I get to cruise the Chevy?" I feel bad not letting him drive it. It ony lasts for second until I hear the rumble of the glass packs as I cruise past him and his freinds......lol
