old ford.

I found an old car out in the woods. serial number 1647018 I just want to know the year and make. I think it is about a 35'-40' ford two door coupe.

That second digit should be an 8 rather than a 6. V8 Fords in the '30s except 60 HP had an 18-prefix on the serial number. Check the number against the serial number listings at Mac Van Pelt's site, www.flatheadV8.com. Lots of valuable info on Mac's site. And, do an intro.

 

18-47018 would be a '32 V8 car. '32 V8 serial #'s ran from 18-000001 to 18-203126.
