Started raining this morning, the meet was put on rain hold. They are going to see how much more rain we get tonight and tomorrow. They might reopen racing Friday and Saturday. Were gonna wait around and find out.
    Pray for no more rain.

Ma Nature doesn't always do what racers want her to do. That first photo looks just about like it did there on Thursday afternoon about 5:00 at the 1998 speedweek. Somewhere someone has a video of my truck running through about six inches of water to get to and up on roads end. We got back to Wendover and it was dry and I had the high schools wash the salt off the truck at the casino parking lot.

Hope you get to get in a few runs Bobby, keep us posted.

Sounds like you better scurry over to the diner and get yourself some chile verde.

Bobby, two years ago, when I visited you at your shop, I flew to Utah that afternoon, only to hear that it rained and the meet was postponed for a day. I went out to the salt, checked out the coarse, the pits etc, and then went back to Burbank, before a run wa made.

Thats Bonneville in September and October.

Hopefully it dries out enough so that you get a run.

  10. Did you forget your rain tires,Bobby! haha!

  15. Please send the rain to Texas. Never been to Bonneville but really want to go next year. Kids-College and Hot Rods are like a 4 year drought regardless how much you save and what scholarships your kids receive .

The great salt lake is truly that, a lake. The entire bed is covered in 4 to 10 inches of highly concentrated salt water. Otherwise known as pure acid. Haha. We are NOT looking forward to the cleanup.

Until next year,... Sure as the crow flies. We'll be back

Has the event been canceled or will they be able to get a few runs in on Saturday? Got a buddy who drove the 2100+ miles from Jersey and hope he gets a run or two in.

Atleast get out the canoe and make a pass, then you can say you made the fastest pass of the meet!!

  26. Officially cancelled. Wind and rain. Snow on the peaks to the West. Looks like the mountain West is back to teh weather patterns we had from 69 to 84. It all goes in cycles guys and gals.

Here's a video of us driving out the next morning to get the trailer. You'd think we were in a boat.
