    pick this old chrome generator at a swap meet,its def GM delco no tag,can anyone tell me what its for .thanks

    '53 up Cad or Olds, '55 up Chev or Pontiac, '56 Packard, etc.
    It's not the heavy duty version with bearings on both ends.

    The big mounting hole in the front plate...designed for a rubber bushing, which is missing. Not too many of them used this. But otherwise, yeah, looks like most of the larger GM generators from the 12v era, as listed above.

    If the front mount is supposed to have a rubber bushing, does that mean it's from a big cushy car with reduced noise features? Maybe the Cad or Packard?
