I've got a couple doors I'll be able to flip sometime soon ( I just need them for a visual to get the doors I'm gonna use back together. I don't know how repairable they are. (I guess it depends how determined a person was. ) I'm in mid MI...
I sent the pix to a buddy of mine with a '55, he says just the convertible top ribs & connecting parts are worth $3000. He also thinks $5000 is OK if you wanted to part it out. Recommends advertising it with both the International Tbird clubs.
Don't bother Harms way about the T-bird he posted. It's now in my shop awaiting a fate worse than death. I'll post when the carnage begins. Frank
Your eyes are about the same age as mine. Better put on the bifocals and a welding helmet might be a good. It's been a long time since I built my last dune buggy...................hope I remember if the roll bar goes in front of the driver or behind. Frank
My Mom had a black '56 TBird with 312 stick/O.D. My 17-year-old ass got it into low 14s, and a shattered T86 box! Mom nixed my driving chores, traded the 'Bird for an immaculate '56 Ford Sunliner (convert) with a brand new Dealer installed 292. (Convert was also a T-86 with O.D.!) I got a consistent class win with that one, at 14.40 and 92 MPH. (1959)
This is my old friend Jack Frost and his Bird. He went on to a long career in Drag Racing. Like an early Corvette, I wished I had bought one, when they were reasonably priced.
