  2. OK, I've been wracking my brain, and so far I've only found two minor faults with the Race of Gentlemen......

First and foremost, despite Mel having saved a spot in line for me, my car (built in 5 weeks specifically for the R.O.G), spent the weekend in General Gow's Garage! Curse You U-Haul!!!!

Second, while standing around on Saturday, with the General and his Bride, Moose, Slick Willy, and others, basking in the afterglow of the coolest automotive event I've ever been a part of, discussing dining locations, no one was kind enough to point us here..... http://asburyanchor.com/review-neptunes-local-smoke-bbq/

So here I sit, daydreaming of next year, when I'll be able to pilot my 4 wheeled time machine down the beach, passing the Good General, and Cousin Bill, and celebrate my victory with delectable smoked meat products and tangy sauces....

Until then, Mel you are THE MAN!!!

This show was so over the top that I havnt seen many pics of the cars on the street.. This would have been an awesome show even without the action on the sand.. Here is a few more of my pics. The weather didnt look so nice when I left the house...

From the pictures and video I saw of this event.... Im absolutely amazed! (and quite pissed off I missed it due to work lol) Car shows put on by real car clubs are still great in my opinion.... but the Race of Gentlemen or events like the Jalopy showdown or the Jalopy drags are events that could never get boring. Actually driving the hot rods and kustoms is so much better than having them parked for a show. Personally for me, I love it because it brings things back to the way they once were when hot rodding was first coming around and Its giving me a chance to experience all the best things involving cars that I missed since I wasnt alive. Maybe one day it will get to the point where the races are similar to the Daytona beach races in the early 50's--- starting on the beach- going to pavement- back to the beach and round and round we go.

Im glad that the Race of Gentlemen turned out great and that the town loved it. This can only mean that this even will keep growing (hopefully) and eventually there will be more events where the cars are actually driven instead of parked... This is awesome! Im looking forward to not missing it next year!!!!!
