Didja ever see something so horribly pathetic that it just tugs at yir heart strings and makes you kinda love it...whether you WANT to or not??? It might be a scruffy little stray dog, or the chick with the "nice personality" that your buddy set you up with on that blind date as a half-ass gag years ago...or, it could be a car...

    <img src=http://ebay3.ipixmedia.com/abc/M28/_EBAY_bc91c5b7ef5489b9850e2af66de932e8/i-1.JPG>

This thing has been listed on e-bay a bunch of times, but keeps coming back! My brother-in-law is the E-bay Hot Rod Buying KING, and he keeps sending me a link to the auction hoping I'll cave in and buy the thing.

I may just have to do it to teach him a lesson! [IMG]

Really...it's about as silly a thing as I've ever seen, but it DOES have a certain...CHARM to it!

And, if ANYONE here "fits" this car...it's ME! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

    Just for yucks...whaddaya think?

A novel and eccentric oddity for a likewise person...

...or a hopeless mess not worthy of saving???

(Blame my bro-in-law if this thing ends up cruising Motown! [IMG])

Hell, with that short wheelbase and some slicks, the 6banger thats in it oughta stand it on end.

That thing sure is homely, but there is nothing wrong with a nice conversation piece. That was my kind way of saying that thing is nasty, but I would drive it if I got a deal on it. Short wheel base, big wheelies. [IMG]

Cut it right behind the cowl, fab up a set of doors, stretch the frame (or build a new one), instant tub. at least it's not on a pickup truck frame or anything like that....

I guess you won't be needing that vicky body... I'll just set it out for the trash man.

You guys are looking at this little thing all wrong!

It would be fairly easy to turn it into a 60s show rod. Clean it up a little, add some big and little 5-spoke wheels with whitewalls, metalflake paint, and an interesting fiberglass grille shell with quad lights and it could be a Roth-inspired winner. Thing big. Or little as the case may be.

Maybe you can figure out a way to dump the six and fit a Tecumsah engine... [IMG]

I'm with Haring. Drop the front on cycle wires with giant steamrollers in the back. Just cartoon it out.

    The way I see it, it's a toss-up . . .

    Pros:

Step-plate rear deck will support the heaviest parade queens.

    Sturdy, jeepish charm.

Won't be turned away from gates of antique tractor shows.

Never a ticket for "too low headlights."

    Only 6-cylinder wheelstander in existence.

Lack of gauges keeps you blissfully ignorant.

    Cons:

Driver must amputate both legs at knees to fit in car.

Heavy parade queens keep calling for dates.

Implement dealers always trying to upgrade you to a new JD.

Someday that '73 Chrysler owner is going to want his interior back.

8-track player won't eject Slim Whitman cartridge.

Local clown club seen lurking around garage at night with crowbar.

    A quote from the auction-
"This car could be fun for the right person"
I bet that big six would pull the front wheels, but seeing that side shot only one thing comes to mind, Retarded.
I think the reason it hasnt sold is they dont have a title, I had the same thing happen to me on ebay.

You guys are missing the point! Ever been to a rodeo? [IMG] Rodeo clowns use cars like these, wheelstands, etc Lots of clown tricks. That why it has the step plate upper body panel. This is seriously a rodeo clown car. probably even pops &amp; backfires on command.

That would be a pretty interesting body for a old-style dragster... Lengthen that front about 4ft, and get it down, drop a greasy flathead in it, some steel wheels, and pretend it's 1959 all over again...

I think Hatch should buy it so he will have something to drive while he is redoing his roadster. Only problem will be he will probably be driving it so much he'll never get the '30 back on the road.

    So Hack,
Have you decided yet if you're gonna get it or not?

I am serious. I see potential in it. I don't know if I would drive it as it sets, but that is just me.

You better hope the Shriners don't catch wind of that jewel. You'll never out bid them. That would be a great addition to their fleet of parade vehicles. If I wasn't so broke,I'd bid on it. Wouldn't need a garage, just one of those cheap aluminum storage buildings.

Paint it some wild color, get yourself a matching afro wig,add a wolf whistle and some wheelie bars and hit every parade in the state. Oh yeah. Some cutting brakes to and a lot of insurance. [IMG]

It's kinda cute in a scary sort of way. Go for it!

  27. All I did was extend the rails by about 2 feet, channel the body and some $100 a set (from hot rod and custom supply) repop Olds Fiesta caps on Dodge van wheels w/ WWW (radials is what was in the pic) thats as far as I photochopped. The LTD interior could be covered by JC whitney white pleated seat covers, put pleated white vinyl cover over the diamond plate (or remove the plate and make more room in there) and door panels. paint the engine baby blue or red. conduit nerf bar bumpers painted white, and it will still do wheelies!

Sad to say, but I do see the attraction.

man, the only thing that i think would save it is the cartoon look. the photochop is good, but in it, the front wheels have gotta be smaller, that's what throws it off to me.

and as far as shriners go, man, i'm not a shriner, i'm pretty sure that there is a rule against that in the masons, somehow...
