Loyd that’s some funny shit there man! But he wants a metallic. Have you checked out factory Chrysler colors? 1970’s Plymouth Root Beer Brown or their rust color were 2 cool ones. The RUST color was darker and deeper with a pearl overtone to it than the Turbine Bronze on the Turbine Car. A very sharp color. I almost traded my 70 GTX b5 blue for one that color with a/c. Too bad it did not have the air grabber hood mine did. My buddy’s 74 challenger is a nice brown and a neighbors 76 Dodge van had a cool brown on it too. Good luck picking one!

My car was painted a 1975 Chrysler Cordoba colour called Spanish Gold. Sort of a goldish brown. 1957B32E-97A4-4F10-B6A1-4F2468D2A093.jpeg 953DA682-A4ED-4B2B-9AFD-E9E69DCBB2B1.jpeg

You've got my attention...forgot all about Turbime Bronze. Some place I saw something about the actual Turbine car color was never used on production cars, But the production color was very close ! :)

1978 Z-28 Camaro Metallic Brown, sent you a P.M. of it.
Other Camaros and the Berlinettas that year had a lighter brown with less metallic, remember that when your ordering from your paint supplier ask for a spray card, diffrent brands make slightly diffrent colors.

  8. Yes! Best golden brown ever. I painted my 28 Tudor 72 Ford Dark Ginger Glow metallic. Liked it so much I painted my Ranchero the same color.

My 46 Olds, OEM 2-tone, Pawnee Beige (Upper) over New Ivory (Lower). Upper is a very fine metallic, it pops when outside in the sun;)

If I remember right '73? Mercury/Lincoln had a brown with multi color metalic in it. Always thought the guy that came up with that, was on the ball. Gene.

Used TCP Restoration Shop paint on my current build last summer, and running it through the screen funnel I saw zero lumps or anything caught in my strainer? I have only used it twice now, but always got good paint and primer from them.

My first car was a 53 Chevy Bel Air 2 dr hdtp. Ii had a light tan body with a medium brown metallic top and side insert. I see it everyday siting in a salvage yard in Hebron NE. Owner won't sell it back to me.

Probably more copper and not quite as brown as you are wanting, but this is 1960 Chrysler "Terra Cotta"

Just realize that brown cars are a tough sell down the road...

I had a 62 Plymouth that was "Luminous (turd) Brown" and that was NOT a good color. I painted it one of the Caddy Firemist colors, I think it was Nutmeg 1969 or 70.

Please do not post off topic vehicles to show colors.... Brown? the used car lot guys always called it "stick around brown" for a reason. Brown makes cars difficult to sell.....

Paint it red & add a sbc? That is the herd mentality. There are gorgeous brown metallic cars & trucks out there.

Red with a small block chev is a great choice. Just maybe "the herd" might be onto something. There must be some reason they form the majority..............:D;)

    Brown can be cool too.
These color discussions really amount to squat. There is only one pickle that needs to be tickled.
There is no choice near as good as your own.......

  21. I have one body shop supply place I deal with. If you don't have access to their color catalog (most of these places are busy), find a paint code for something you like. Come in with a few possibilities.

I was looking to jamb my car with the OG Colonial White, I even had the factory color code, which they had no match for. Wound up getting Wimbledon White.

I had an 82 Camaro that the factory paint was called “Dark Gold” it was a pretty cool brown color. I alway look through Porsche colors when I’m getting ready to decide on paint color they have the coolest colors. I’ve used Porsche colors a few times I also go to new car dealers and cruise through the lots looking for colors I like.

    Hello,

One of the nicest non-chopped Model A Sedan Delivery, custom hot rods was/is owned and built by Steven Pennington. The photo shoot location was in the San Pedro/LA Harbor area near the Vincent Thomas Bridge. The blue water/blue sky contrasted well with the look of the metallic “Root Beer Brown” color. The contrasting black color fenders and top application gave it a good appearance.

Buick Skylark Wire Wheels, my favorite, just looks great on this sedan delivery. Lots of work went into making the wires fit the wheel openings without body modifications.

    Jnaki

On this blue sky day, the Root Beer Metallic Paint glistened every time I walked around the Sedan Delivery for a different angle shot. On the way home, down the coast, I stopped at our nearest diner, Woody's Diner and ordered a Root Beer Float !!! YRMV
