My friend is looking at a 27T on a 1932 frame. 283ci sbc with a 5spd manual transmission (S10). The car has a metallic squeak any time the engine is running and changes with the engine speed. The squeak goes away when you start to put pressure on the clutch pedal. In addition the trans doesn't seem to fully disengage when the clutch pedal is fully depressed( clashes when trying to go into reverse). The trans uses a hydraulic clutch.

    Your thoughts? Throughout bearing?

The clashing could be a few things.
    Clutch out of adjustment
Not enough adjustment in a custom application .
Excessive free play which relates to the above issues.
    Or internal trans problems.

The two issues could be related.
Be careful of the second one.

How do you adjust the clutch on that assembly?

Might could be his wife anticipating the launch.

Throw out bearing ....or mice crispies. Most likely the former.
