[ QUOTE ] From patgizz on ChevyTalk... this is hilarious. a guy was hotlinking one of the dude's from camaroz28.com's pics of his $600 PIAA headlight conversion to sell junk $30 foglights so he caught wind of it and changed the pics on his site accordingly. it's pretty hilarious, i wish everyone could catch scammers like this! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2459006334 [/ QUOTE ]
Now THAT's funny... It would be even funnier if they threw his ass in jail, but you can't have everything I guess. Couple years ago I won an auction pretty cheap on some 36 radius rods. Seller informed me that when he took them off the car they turned out to be rusted pretty badly and he couldn't in good faith sell them afterall. 2 weeks later this guy had them for sale again. Same pics and everything. He had a higher reserve on them the second time. Guess I didn't bid what he wanted so he wormed out of the deal the first time and tried again. When I threatened to turn his ass in to EBAY and the FBI, he "Found another set" and let me have them for less than my origional bid. And he paid shipping too.
[ QUOTE ] What a hoot. I wonder if the guy even knows what is going on? [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] The seller ended this listing early because of an error in the listing. [/ QUOTE ] I think they do
He linked directly to the camaro web page and used the images in the fraudulent auction. When the guy found out, he swapped out the real images on the camaro site so they would appear in the ebay listing to bust the guy on ebay.
