    I've done a few things here and there . . .

Electronics - won Duracell National Design A Device contest in high school for a static detector
RC Cars - Used to race dirt oval mainly. Had some gas trucks also, back before you could by ready to run stuff . . . when you had to use a conversion kit.
House stuff - I do repair and upgrade projects there and there. Fixed my freakin jacuzzi tub tonight . . . gotta keep it from leaking on the rods in the garage. Going to finish off the basement ceiling and my bathroom sometime soon.
    Photography - 26K digital photos so far and counting . . . . yea, I'm a nut.
Boating - every weekend I'm on the cruiser at the lake . . . that explains where my car working time goes. :->

my other hobbies are collecting/restoring arcade games and building custom made arcade games. www.dirtsarcade.com . off roading is my other passion. here is my lastest car. i just got it 2 weeks ago so it needs to be redone to my taste but its a good start. it definatly needs the suspension upgraded. it should have at least 14 inches of wheel travel when im done.

  7. I seem to remember a thread similar to this awhile back but what the hell;here goes nothing......................

I notice several people on here collect knives.I have been doing so since the age of ten(I'm older now)and now have about 2500 or so.I did collect firearms at one time but a rather messy and costly,"dissolution of connubial bliss" pared that down considerably.I may have a dozen or so left;I haven't looked in awhile.

I also was(and still am to a certain extent)a pretty avid reader(I am currently reading two books alternately)and have a reasonably good library of science fiction and Jack Kerouac. Also a huge collection of research material on knives and vintage hot rod magazines.

I started collecting record albums in 1961 and have a pretty sizeable accumulation of those.

I won't even estimate the number of model cars(kits, promos,HO and N scale vehicles,Hot Wheels,Muscle Machines)and vintage toys;most of which I had when I was a kid.Even a bunch of carved model airplanes my uncle built in the 1930's when he was in high school.A vintage Lionel train layout built in the late 30's.Promotional aircraft models from various companies including an ultra rare Russian SST model.

A fair amount of artwork other than striping(sculpture, drawings, water colors).

My latest fascination has been vintage spray equipment(guns, airbrushes, mini compressors).

My only needs now are a larger place to stash all this shit.

I also keep fish. It's the only car-less hobby I think I have. I have a 100 gallon tank that I made the stand/cabinet for and I have 4 Discus in it. I had a Pleco that I had for 12 years that recently died. He was about 12" long and was only an inch and a half when I got him. I dabbled with salt too but never have enough time to maintain it.
Home remodeling is kind of a hobby but more a necessity, regardless of the outcome it still feels like work so I wouldn't really call it a hobby.
Model cars would be a good one, although I only have time to do 1 or 2 a year now. I guess I collect the kits!

I'm pretty heavily into remote control helicopters.....I think its as bad as an addiction as the cars and just as expensive....I figure at 24 helos I'm in pretty deep....my wife understands the car hobby but not the helo hobby.....her theory...you can only fly one at a time.....my theory.....you need spares! I also do 1/4 scale gas cars on nitrous and am finishing a build of a 1/4 scale top fuel funny car....

    Who are you calling old?

Lets see while I'm home: I drink Guinness, bourbon and wine, make sushi, and work on the our first home. Try to spend as much time with the family as possible. Been thinking about getting into paintball as a way to spend some quality time with my soldiers. Should be working on The Hokey Ass cookbook version 1.5 but keep putting it off. Hope to get back into building smoke poles again soon.

When deployed to Haji-land: I spend what little free time I have playing both Call of Duty and Delta Force multiplayer with my buddies killing each other so we can relax.

Been into photography for over 30 years, 20,000+ color slides of cars. I collect car books, mainly european racing history, Grand Prix and sports cars, '30s through the '70s. Also old racing posters, again mainly Grand Prix and sports cars '50s and '60s. Old car ads also from when they used illustrations instead of photos. Work on the house a lot. I have the defective "do it yourself" gene like most of us here. Got a Norton Commando I want to get back in shape sometime before I die.

  17. That's a given!!

Even just a the trip to the West Coast HAMB drags...the parks and spots in AZ are awesome!

Wow, you all thought I was the weird one? Gun toting, knife collecting, animal killing weirdos.:D

Let's see, I'm all over the board BIG time:

I collect the bodies of lovers past, roll in their blood and lick their faces. Nothing like getting the last word in.:D

    I build and show tractors.

I remodel the house for fun.

    I drink too much.

I've got a large collection of old porn from all over the world.

Shoes, shoes will be the death of me.

I've got a never ending collection of vintage clothing, including furs.

I've started parting out my collection of vintage furniture. I think Ragdoll appreciated that.:D

My inner nerd is fond of my Brownie Camera collection.

Makeup, I don't know what's bigger, my tool boxes or my makeup case.

I like participating in urban dance classes; yes, rap and hip hop.

I've taking up running so I can get back into boxing.

I've got a massive collection of music. From A to Z and everything in between. I even sleep with the radio going.

I've still got a drum set for when my inner animal screams to get out.

I'm gourmet baby. :D I can cook most anything and enjoy it.

I've got a habit of learning as many odd languages as I possibly can. Right now I speak Spanish, French, Italian and am self teaching myself German. It's a vicious cycle.

Next month I also begin my archery classes. Watch out! :D

I think that about sums it up. I also like to MODIFY clothing, altho I think some folks would call it DESTROY..............but whatever.

Surf fishing is my passon, letting the sun beat down on you and hear the waves pounding puts you in a tranquil inter peace and if you catch something the whole mood is lost and the fight begins, then it's fresh fish for dinner. Antiques of the 20's brass fixtures, corner cupboards, lamps etc. WWII pinups old cars and trucks of the 30,s. Trucks are a passion from childhood playing in the dirt and have a tri-axle trucking co. 1938 chevy pickup my latest toy........

We raise angora goats for their mohair. My wife dyes some amazing colors and we spin (I'm not very good) into yarn. I've picked up weaving and have amassed about 12 different weaving looms. My goal is to weave at least some cool colored inserts for my interior upholstery. I've been really digging making scarves and when I travel to Germany for work I go to a yarn thrift shop and blow about $200 each time bringing home a suitcase full.

Married 15 years this Feb 29 (oops, not one this year!) We've got 2 boys, 13 and 11 and they are fun. They play hockey, baseball, starting curling soon, and a bunch of other stuff. We homeschool so we try to do 'intelligent' things with them but if I'm along it always gets back to farting and burping.

I'm just trying to miss as little as I can as they grow up, but it's hard to do with a job that has me travel about 20% of the time. Australia, South Africa, Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, the USA...

  25. my only other hooby is surfing, and collecting vintage surf boards-nothing better than throwing my boards in my hotrod and heading out to surf!!

I draw a lot (mostly women and cars, but also some bizarre shit - whatever comes out of my pencil at the time) I also have an obsession with World War Two aircraft. There's just something about them that raises the hair on the back of my neck. Whether it's gazing at old photos, drawing them, or diving and swooping with small diecast models, I can't get enough. What the hell's wrong with me? A psychic I once visited (after years of wheedling and begging from my fiance) started going on and on about my past life as a pilot ... past lives as a pilot. I don't know if you believe in that sort of thing, but it creeped me right out that some guy I never met before snagged onto my WWII aviation obsession without ever having met me before.

Oh yeah, I'm a psychic too. Just from this post I see something new coming into your life but combined with someone you know passing away.

You'll be doing something new in the next year concerning your way of making a living. Someone you knew awhile back will come back into your life.
