About ‘IT”: ( Once Again, the Syracuse Nationals is happy to announce the continuation of the popular “Gasoline Alley” Nostalgic Race Car Exhibit. Located in the Horticultural Building, showcasing at least 40 restored, original and retired historical Drag, Oval Track and sports cars .Dragsters, Gassers, Altereds plus Dirt and Asphalt oval track racers will be on display from all parts of the northeast. The display is the brain–child of Artie Schilling ,who directed the annual ‘Arties Party” Charity Pinstripers Auctions in the past .He saw the potential of getting these great old race cars in one space ,at one time ,for all to enjoy. Taking over the reigns to coordinate the exhibit this year is “Dino ‘Lawrence .Dino has a vast history of Drag Racing and produces the annual Dover Drag Strip Nostalgia Drags at Lebanon Valley Dragway, each year. About ME: Dean ‘Dino” Lawrence ,is this years “Gasoline Alley” exhibit coordinator. Dino’s roots go back to the 60’s ,when he announced at Dover Drag Strip, in Wingdale,N.Y. At the same time he embarked on his passion for Lettering and Custom paint on race cars, which he still does today. His resume includes over 150 best appearing car awards in Drag and oval track racing. He ran the highly successful and trend setting “Summer Cruise”, fifties style Cruise nights in Bethel, Ct. from 1981-1988. That spawned his Time Tunnel Car Shows in Danbury, Ct., that were touted as the biggest car shows in the area. Operating out of his graphics shop in Rockingham, N.C., Dino also produces the Annual Dover Drag Strip Nostalgia Drags & Rod & Custom show annually. His wealth of Drag Racing is sure to be an asset to this years Display.
