  3. No I left it at the dock in Vancouver for the week while we did the boat thing. Did more badlands on the return run... still more left to do. Wow, what a place, (once the f#cking smelly bikers were gone). I managed to roll thru the first time during the end of Sturgis. What an unfortunate piece of timing that was.
One day, Bob, I will follow your tire trax back down the Al-Can with the 57. I promise to stop and salute us both there again with a spruce tip blonde.
You'll always be the King to me , Bob!
    What's left for you... Hawaii???

I just read in The Week that the Downtown Hotel in Dawson City is looking for a new toe to be used in the cocktail as someone from New Orleans swallowed the original. They said it was a mummified toe

Yep, not the first time someone has consumed the toe either. They have a couple them (back up toes) but raised the fee from 500 to 2500 for eating the toe.

Thanks for bumping this. I was just headed to find it after reading about Bob's condition, when I came across it this morning. I got about 15 pages in, maybe I'll have time to finish it later. Any idea why some of the pictures didn't make it?

    Thanks for the memories.
My first trip up the Alaskan Highway from Tyler, Texas was in 1963 in February.
My ride was a 1958 Ford convertible. Very cold through Tok Junction -40.
I was in Anchorage in '64 during the earthquake, two blocks from "downtown".
Made a nostalgia round trip from Tyler to Anchorage and beyond in 2016. This time in a one
year older car than my '63 trip, a 1957 Thunderbird.
Great pictures. Once again thanks for the memories.

  22. :) Met this guy because of this thread.

LSRU in a HAMB shirt. Dropped my hot dog in the dirt. I picked it up and ate that sum b#tch.

Bob saw me eat it, and I guess the HAMB shirt, invited his coming comment. Told me that he would have bought me a new one.

I said it wasn't the first time my hot dog was dirty, Mr. K. :)

    Mr. K. ???

Yes sir, I know your name, just thought it impolite to use your first. :D:D Gooooooood' laugh, that one.

I thought it was cool I knew him .... because of a thread, & he hadn't a clue of me .... a poser. Great guy. Happy, happy. Thankful to have had the chance, for the brief meeting. Rest in peace, sir, and friend.

@Ryan are BobK's photos in this thread stored on the HAMB server farm, or are they somewhere that they might expire? It would be a shame to not preserve the great man's documentation of this epic trip he and Maggie took.

    RIP Bob.

I'm looking forward to reading all this again. Really enjoyed following along as Bob made this journey. I never met him, but he really knew how to enjoy life and our hobby.
