  5. Hey Guys....

I have lived all over our great state! I was just talking to family this weekend about where is the best BBQ. My top 10....

    10. High Cotton in Kitty Hawk
    9. Parker's in Greenville
    8. Knightdale Seafood & BBQ in Knightdale
    7. Smithfield BBQ & Chicken in Smithfield
    6. Bill's in Wilson
    5. Boss Hog's in Greenville
    4. King's in Kinston
    3. Stamey's in Greensboro (grew up on the stuff!)
    2. B's Barbeque in Greenville

And my #1 favorite BBQ in NC is............

    1. My Dad's, real hours-over-the-cooker, down-home pig!

I know, it's not for sale, but if you had ever had some of his, you would have the same opinion!

An, yes, it is all Vinegar-based pork! (Pulled, chopped, or sliced, don't matter!)

Huntersville is a pretty nice town, traffic is a beast though. Plenty of car related stuff to do in that area and right up the road in Mooresville. Just learn the traffic patterns and you will be good to go!

  10. Flat,

Give JeffreyJames a call (PM). He's in Huntersville, too. And oddrodgarage is in Morresville.

You left off Alston Bridges in Shelby, Wibur's in Goldsboro, Speedy's in Lexington, BackCountry in Lexington, Lexington BBQ and Country BBQ in Greensboro! There are more than a few in the state. :D

Im was born and raised in the Great state of Kentucky where I still live, I worked in Greenville NC for several weeks in the 80's and fell in love with your state and the food. I can't remember the name of the outdoor BBQ joint, but I remember it was a local favorite, as far as I can remember it was about 10 min. off the main road, outdoor screened in firepit, huge portions, with a small indoor area to eat, served with a giant glass of tea, and it was vinegar based sauce. Also I remember a hotel/motel that had great cheap lunches with the best collard greens I've ever eaten.......
    Now im hungry.

  27. That's gotta be B's you're talkin' 'bout! Little white clapboard building with cinderblock steps? On the left as you leave town? Kinda behind the hospital?

That's it! (I'm hungry now, too!)

  28. Where's "home"?

Sounds like it, is it still there? I worked for Vermont American then, I don't know if you remember where that was, don't remember the address, they were bought out by Bosch, anyway the hotel/motel I mentioned was across the main HWY, great food, very reasonable, thats when I first learned about collard greens, it was great.
