    I am not sure...he told me in '94 and I can't remember.
But I do know it was his first for a Lokar. There is a button on the top of the skull to depress for shifting. Mine was a working experiment and Norm told me it was his first.
It's not a fancy one like others,..... but I love it.
Flat Top has an AMAZING Norm Collection.... and the Beer stien is something you can stare at for hours.

    Neat Thread.

Truly an American original. Norm's quite a craftsman, to say the least.

    I see the resemblance

  11. The Norm Skull is for my Deuce RPU. The knob below was made for the '38 but obviously didn't go with it. Did you guys keep the kick ass decals in the 1/4 windows, jug in the back, & the TN tag? All that along with this shift knob..... it looked the part.

  12. Flattopbob, that is an impressive collection you have there. Wow.

I like Norm's early stuff. Really wish I had bought one 15 years ago.

They are true works of art! Does he still do smaller ones like the eyeball pictured?

  15. A couple more I was able to dig up here on the HAMB...

  16. Wow, someone on the HAMB saved one of my pictures....am I cool yet? Didn't think so. LOL. That green-eyed braces skull above is mine. Still haven't built the car it goes in far enough to install it. So, in the mean time, it sits on my desk and I use it as a threat to kids that don't follow their instructions with their braces. "If you don't start wearing your rubber bands, this is how long you will have to wear your braces." Ultimately isn't very effective, but it is funny.

While I can appreciate the work put into these, their attraction is lost on me.

  18. What you think of my shift knob is really none of my business.

Norm doesn't do computers. But, he is a friend of the HAMB. He did the HAMB skull, and he has lots of friends that are HAMBers.

I know this is an older thread but I ran into Norm this weekend at the Frog Follies. He had a couple of skulls with him for sale but I didn't have the scratch with me. He was in rare form, even made a pass at the wife. :D

These are in a beautifully restored Studebaker, and they're quite large. Norm also did a lot of the woodwork on the car including a large hand made trunk on the back.

Mine is about ten years old. Norm actually brought it to the 50th anniversary of the Grand National Roadster Show at the Cow Palace in S.F. because I told him I would be there. We never hooked up so he sent it to me when he got home. Said he could have sold it a hundred times there. Norm is a strait up guy.

Flat Top Bob has the best Norm collection I've ever seen.... hands down. That stein is epic. I have a cane he made some time back, but would love to get my grubby little mitts on some more Grabowski goodies.

  26. I'll second that...'Ol Rat Fink is about as weird and gross as I can stand on my ride. How the hell do you use something like that for a shift knob:confused:? I use a beer tap handle sometimes and thats even uncomfortable
But Norm does sound like a pretty kool guy, would like to meet him someday.

I met His High Polishness several years ago at a Truck Show in Missouri. He had just started doing the skulls then. Just wondering if he still builds the "Rocky" horses that he did back then. I got to visit his home and was blown away by all his STUFF. He was building Kookie 2 then and I got to see it and the Henway!!! He really is a down to earth COOL GUY!!!
