The Goldenrod was for sale locally here, early '70s for $2500. Kind of a local legend. One of the previous owners built a pretty nice (non lettered) tribute a few years ago.

Can hear that in my head seems like every area picked up that style for the drag strips in their areas. :)

You've got to listen to the cd "Be There", a recording of 45 of those commercials along with eight
"sounds of the drags" type cuts. Narrated by the best drag racing announcer ever, the late Steve Evans,
it's one of those crazy things every gearhead should have.

I can still hear that "Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Raceway Park" commercial in my head that I heard all the time on WABC on the AM radio I have in my '62. I think they actually still use that recording.

John Dianna was one of the most creative people back in the mid 60's and he always found the right tricks to make him go faster then many other competitors. Some of the those tricks came for the people who have their decal on his windows.

Top one is Billy Lagana I'm nearly positive and bottom one could be same car painted. In 63 Billy ran a 63 Impala out of Oak Hill Chevrolet in S/S then AFX. My father bought a 63 Impala from Oak Hill Chevy and I went with him to pick it up, I saw all the trophies in the showroom from Billy racing for them.
