I couldn't figure out why it was called Scotts shop and the owner was named Justin. They also talked about a $100,000 plasma cutter,my wife asked me why mine was so cheap. The reason they painted it primer I think was it was so wavy and full of ripples thats all they could do.
Not my kinda car, but I was interested in seeing any fabrication they were gonna do to it, except they never showed any other then cutting the top. The interior looked like a truck full of bondo got dumped into it. I don't get the whole gonna make it "old school" with an LS1, bling bling wheels and a new chassis. And those headlights are lame, I agree that it does look like some freaky fish. And that 90210 guy bugs the shit out of me, should have taken his car slamming into a wall as some sort of sign from the car gods.
For shits and giggles, go to the rides site http://tlc.discovery.com/fansites/rides/photo/viewer/viewer_index.html and look at the rides fan's rides section... there are more than just 2 cars.. look for the pages at the top after clicking the pics... My favorite is the stock vette!!!! HC
So how was that show? I slept through most of it... Its not that I was not interested, but after a long day of building cars I was kind of tired...
"For shits and giggles, go to the rides site" That yellow VW on the rides site is Badassed. I watched him run at Wentzville a couple years ago. Its amazing what they can do with those VW engines... 9.69 at 141 mph
I don't have cable, but I heard enough from you guys... Moral of the story: If you can't build it yourself, or with your buddies, you probably shouldn't have it. Corrolary being, "unless you're so filthy rich, you can go buy a finished one."
I quit watching about halfway through...one question.. almost all the cars they were working on were off the frame...I may just be a backyard builder, but I think you need to leave it on the frame when you go chopping it up.. the quote about the 100k plasma cutter cracked me up! Brian
Damn that truck needs bumpers! Jdubs truck sat every bit as low as this road-kill lookin' sumbitch without 'bags and looked a heeluva lot cooler cuz it had bumpers. BOWL WINDER!! That's the best line I've heard in along time. BTW...got a pristine '56 two door post in the shop yesterday. Gonna get a spankin' new LS6 motor. What's wrong with reliability and power? Pete
(quote)JimC, You insult Radshit like that again and you and I are going to have some words out behind the garage..(unquote) Actually, I had started the reply, when I got called to the table. It was a while before I came back here and posted my reply. My reference was to the top lop, and I had no idea these guys were jacking people around. Neal, sorry for that. Shortbus, what is behind the garage? Is it going to be kinky? Jim
So I was really bored and actually surfed through the forum on there. There are a bunch of winners over there!! Then surfed through the pics section, interesting!
The bike & the shoebox had to be rented or something & just brought in the shop to be used as props. No way they could have built it there. They said the shoebox was brought in as a bondo bucket (they probally worked on it the first time) and every panel was remade by hand. YEA, OK. Also,I'm no pro painter but I did go to autobody school after highschool & painted a few cars. Did you see the kid painting the truck? how are you supposed to laydown a good shot of paint with the gun 2 feet away from the panel & holding the gun behind your back? I guess it's good it's flat black. Billy
i can talk like that guy ,its not that hard to change your voice. try it,you MIGHT like it.. i guess the headlights only looked COCK-eyed to me.... and the grill looked like that new ssrt chevy or whatever its called. and the bed looks like that bed on the truck that guy sent a pic of his truck into R&C and ol School magazine(the copper colored50's chev) and the bed that some one else in cali had thats primmered light blue... also,,leaning that winshield back put that UGLY dip into the belt line where the corners of the windshield laid into it,,,sad i like they way they justified painting it flat black..a whole 2 or 3 minutes dedicated to OUTLAW Rat Rodz...it was worth it tho ,just to hear Jason Priestly say "rat rods" anyways...the chassis looked pretty good.
since the majority of hambers didn't like the Scott's truck, i found this photo that is similiar yet different from the Scott's. this truck is from Japan.
[ QUOTE ] I'm movin to Japan!!!! [/ QUOTE ] i'm telling ya, the japs can build cars. they do some kickass work. if you want some more, go to www.deucecoupe.net. the pictures are in the "event report" section. here's a nice merc, sorry the pciture is small.
I think you've nailed it, I know now that yes,it remind's me of some deep sea fish face. This was shown more thana year ago.
Who cares it's two years old, and maybe he reads directions the same way you do.... No intro, no love...
