okay i havent been up close and personal with any 30s fords , from the pics ive seen they dont any metal flanges that the rubbers fit over like on later cars just wondering how the glass installs on those cars ? anyone got any pics please such as this body here http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=370866
what year and body style are you working on? the link shows a `34 three window. there are some little tricks depending on what body. i have installed glass in many `28-40 fords , including a couple 34 3-windows , a 33 3-window what do you mean by rubber flanges the rubbers fit over? pictures?
Perhaps he means the quarter windows in a 5 window coupe? Just about everything else winds up and down or swings out!
if it is a `34 3-window , this thread should help: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=258151&highlight=glass are you talking door glass , or 1/4 window glass as Hackerbilt suggested?
The fixed quarter and back glass windows of Fords from 28-36 have a U-channel rubber that fits over them and seals against the flange of the body that rolls in from the outside of the window opening. The mouldings hold the rubber and glass tight against the body for a good seal.
