What was your opinion on the body reveals on the sweede body you saw? The one I saw they didn't seem as crisp as a upac or origional , kinda reminded me of rodbod vs. brookville years ago ...
I think the upac stuff looks great ... BUT, I hate Chinese steel , I don't know what they do at steel mills over there but I can tell you they haven't figured it out yet ....ask anyone with a repop pickup bed floor ... You can't even walk on it without bending it, I wish we could bring back the ford engineers of the 30s to show everyone how its done

I love my brookville roadster but that has rusted out already, nothing beats old ford steel

Quite honestly, I really wasn't looking to closely at the reveals and such. Let's just say that they didn't throw any red flags up.

I punch mostly vintage American steel for people, because that what people have louvered most. I have done a whole bunch of Asian hoods for compact kids over the years, and it's the damnedest thing... It's like they don't stir the crucible when they manufacture steel there. I'll be punching along and all of the louvers load the press a bit before they punch, then 3 will punch with a sort of dull "thud", then back to loading the machine.

Let me be clear, I'm truly not trashing this company's efforts. I think anytime something as cool and as large an investment as a '32 five window body endeavored, it's a cool deal. But I have to say, every time I see one, that seem across the rear of the roof just makes me go ?.

There's one of those swede bodies on ebay right now for sale...looks like shit to me. They say it was built from the knock down kit...maybe drip rails will help it, but I doubt it...

The one I looked at had drip rails and all the stuff you would normally see on a deuce.

Just got back from UP with Jeff hill at absolutesheetmetal.com they are the old Bitchin products people. He is now a dealer for UP and his body was assembled right there in Long Beach. They have fixed the lap welds, they are all butt welded now. 20151212_110145 (640x360).jpg 20151212_110158 (640x360).jpg 20151212_121644 (640x360).jpg 20151211_110553 (640x360).jpg 20151211_112319 (640x360).jpg 20151212_110145 (640x360).jpg 20151212_110158 (640x360).jpg 20151212_121644 (640x360).jpg 20151211_110553 (640x360).jpg 20151211_112319 (640x360).jpg 20151212_121644 (640x360).jpg I was impressed with the quality, like all new stuff there bound to be a learning curve, but it looks to me like they have figured it out.

  7. I installed a upac dash last year, it is a perfect fit. very good quality piece.

  8. I've been to the UPI place a couple of times. The current bodies are beyond reproach in my opinion. The new roof attachment technique is as good as it can be. I would not be afraid of one!
