Hi all. Name's Ashley, I'm 27, live in London UK. Have a 1950 Ford F1, a 1958 Olds 2-door stationwagon, a 1944 Willys Jeep, a Morris "MInor" saloon and a Morris "Minor Traveller" (Woody). Oh, and a BSA Bantam that sits in the garden not working! (Hi to the guys that have been on at me to finally join the group!) Ashley
I'll have a Scotch and Soda from the saloon, and a six pack to go! Welcome from the grand and and glorious foreign country of Texas. pigpen
Welcome Ash,You'll get on just fine here ,nice intro and all that........Marq....Luton Bedfordshire England..........Lol
Mirrors are off, wheels now black powder-coated wearing repro firestone 700X15 blackwall tires, it now has a steering wheel and shift column from a 62 Impala. Was supposed to be here in four weeks time ready for Hemsby, but it won't be (bugger!). Will take it to the Enfield car show with any luck though! How's the Valiant coming on? (last update on your site is Dec 18th) Ashley I'm a white male, age 18 to 49. Everyone listens to me, no matter how dumb my suggestions are
Welcome to the HAMB. Got some family over there and one day want to make a trip to Hemsby for the Show.
Cor blimey, guv'nor, apples and pears, Queen Mum was lovely etc etc etc..... Welcome from a Brummie.....
Welcome Ashley, Would you know if any interesting rod shows or events are taking place near London the weekend of April 23-24? Will be there with some time to kill and would be great if I can get a chance to see some UK rods.
Welcome Ashley. Are you and Red Devil tag team writers, or what? Anyway, glad you're both here. I've had a fascination with all things British since childhood. Guess that explains the SBC Morris and Gasser '58 Anglia...Are your Morrys stock, or???
Are you and Red Devil tag team writers, or what? Oosp! You ARE Red Devil1311...Sorry. I REALLY enjoyed the 60s...And by the way, that Olds wagon is awesome! Are you a musician, too? There are a few of us on here...
jangleguy - reddevil1311 is my web self, Ashley is my real self! Niether of my "moggies" are completely stock. They both have 1275cc MG Midget motors with BMC "Special Tuning" series cams. The woody has twin SU carbs on as well. I have had the saloon up to around 115-120mph (once!). I don't know how quick the woody will be, (still finishing it) but it is a great daily driver around town! Ashley
Oh yeah, forgot to say, no, I'm not a musician. The Olds is done up like a touring car that Sid King and the Five Strings used back in the late fifties (They had a 55 Ford) I did the signwriting for two reasons - 1).The previous owner painted the car every year and thus it looks pretty crappy, just like it was just dragged out of a barn. 2).Sid and Billy King played a few gigs over here a couple of years ago and I thought I would surprise them - certainly did too! (Took 'em both out on the Rhythm Riot cruise in it) Ashley
Welcome aboard Ashley, from another Limey. I'm up just north of Brum myself. Got a 34 Morris, forefather of your Minor and Traveller?
Ha! Sid and Billy must've been blown away by the lettering on the wagon! Your Moggies sound like fun. I'd like to do a similar treatment on one for a daily driver - maybe you'll inspire me to actually do it some day (I DID start on one, but someone offered me good money when I needed it and...). Glad you're here - a little culture is always good for this old garage...
