<!-- google_ad_section_start -->I am trying to come up with someting a little different. Can't afford to go buy new wheels right now. And kind of tough to find a deal on 5 on 5" rims that don't look real shitty.

Before you all bust my balls about lowering the Riv. I ordered some springs from Jamco 2 weeks ago. They just haven't arrived. <!-- google_ad_section_end -->

Went to a small cruise night last night. I had two guys ask "what are those wheels". Doesn't mean much. I removed all the Riv scripts on the sides and trunk. The first time got out in it after I put it back together. I had a dude come up and say "is that a Plymouth". I think he was just fuckin' with me. But everytime I go someplace in the Rivi someone asks what it is. I guess people just don't know.

  5. JMHO...

Iv'e owned quite a few Buicks and I prefer the black painted inserts on the factory wheels. I can see where it would fool some people the way you have it now.
That is one beautiful car. I'm jealous...

Yeah. It's a great driving car. I hate to dick that up. But I can't wait to drop it. If it rides for shit with the drop springs. I can always put the stock springs back in.

I love those factory Buick wheels. Paint the centers black, or for a custom touch, body colour.

I like it just how it is too. The wheels and the stance work just fine on it. If you do lower it I hope its not too drastic.

I ordered 3" drop springs. I'll probably drag the exhaust completely off of it.

You said you can't afford to buy new wheels right now, so why bother? I'd hate to even see it lowered, looks better the way it is.

Are those repop wheels with unpainted centers, or original ones with the paint stripped off? How did you do that? I like it better than the black painted inserts, different look.

I'm not a big fan of paint on those wheels. Looks cool as-is.

Just the old stock rims. I never had center caps. I stripped them with spray on paint stripped for urethane parts. Washed that off with water. Then laquer thinner on a rag to get what was left behind. And a quick polish.

I've always liked those wheels. They have a certain Halibrand-esque vibe.
I wonder how they would look with Argent Grey instead of black? Hmmmm....

I thought they look like AR Salt Flat Racers in a way.

  20. I like 'em the way they are... Custom, but not... maybe replace the generic spinners with some 2 bar ones off a set of wires... or some vintage 3 bar drilled Cal Custom..
