After the close of Woodbine, the next significant activity of the NJTA was yet another show. This one was held at the Roseville Ave. Armory in Newark in May of 1957. It was co-produced with the Roseville YM-YWCA and was very successful. Forty rods and customs filled the Armory floor. Among them was a 1934 Ford entered by Dick VanNiekerk of Paterson. He still owned this car when he passed away in 2015. And there was a Model-A roadster entered by Bill Newmann of Scarsdale, NY. Newmann went on to a career with Hot Rod Magazine.

This was the last show produced by the New Jersey Timing Association. The focus then became exclusively drag racing.

I see that Pop Lamb and Jack Lentz both made the event. The NJTA had quite a turnout. btt
