Hey Everyone, I am a mechaniac for a living, doing the same thing when I get home to my little shop. I love all the old stuff and right now the car of importance in my life is a 57 Monteray I picked up in September. It has beendifficult getting the right transmission. In 57 Mercury went with a liquid cooled transmission, i.e. a transmission cooler. In 56 there was the finned torque convertor and a screened vent that moved the cool air for the transmission. I need the correct planetary to make my original trans work. It is a 57 FordOmatic. I look forward to browsing the H.A.M.B. and learning all I can about the oldies that we all LOVE so much.
