    Hey all!
ive read many helpfull posts around here for years but never signed up.
I just picked up a 59 ford from my uncle. Looks to be a very base model? not even sure exactly what its called. It has been in a barn since 1987 when it was last registered. He picked it up about 6yrs ago (i believe) as its shown and never got around to messing with it, so here i am ready to get it road worthy again. Its a complete car from what i can see, minus the disintegrated dash pad and one upper tail lense. cant find any rot through anywhere, appears to be all surface rust. Engine rotates but is full of sludge and the carb is gone so we just plan to pull it and either rebuild it or drop in something else. im not sure what is in there now to be honest im not too familiar with fords of this era. (looks like a small V8 2bb)
Looking for any helpful tips, links to parts, or just general info about these cars to help me out with my new exciting venture!
Thanks and glad to finally be a member

    Matt

  3. should have a Y block, thats a good car, I definitely started with less on my '57 Ford.
@bobss396 can help you with more specifics about '59s.

Just my thought Oldiron. something simple though, cruiser. Id like to see it lowered for sure, on some whitewalls with either some crossbar type hubcaps, painted steelies, or chrome smoothie type. Its out of my normal range of customizing as ive been mostly into muscle cars and 80s cadillacs so ive just been looking at others online for inspiration.

  5. on the contrary, i think some blackwalls, a 4 speed and an FE would be pretty nice for a "shiner" car.

thank you. No the MD is my initials and 68 Buick is a car ive owned since 94, restored with the kids. Part of the family now. It’s just a profile name I use on most car forums I’m on to help me remember what name I used lol

  10. That is a Custom 300, body style 64F. A rare car to find without lots of rust. Mine I suspect sat inside somewhere dry for at least 30 years. The date code on the tires was from 1976.

Thank you for the confirmation on the body style!
Any sites you’d recommend for interior kits? Specifically headliner, carpet and seat upholstery.

Cool Thanks for that link. Man I’m having a hard time navigating this site. I didn’t know there was that sub forum and can’t find out how to get to it unless through that link.

  14. Same with me, it took a link to get to it. I find there are more '52 to '56 guys there and more '57 to '59 guys here.
