Hey guys, I'm new here so I'd thought I'd say a quick hello to ya'll from Sydney, Australia. I've been a muscle car fan for most of my life but as I'm getting older and wiser I find myself drawn more and more to earlier stuff. This website & forum are by far the coolest car hangouts I've seen anywhere online. Looking forward to digging in and meeting some of you!
Thanks! But is that Western Australia or Washington? Sent from my INE-LX2 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I'm from the East Coast, I had to Google what a Sandgroper was LOL. Sent from my INE-LX2 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Hey Frank, yep Perth, Western Australia. I was a muscle car bloke myself, Ht Bathurst Monaro but always liked the old stuff as well.
Gday & welcome from across the nullabor. Off topic, it's pre '64 rods & customs here, I know.. It's just your avatar..
Ha ha I had heard it mentioned before but never knew what it was or where it came from. But there you go, you learn something every day. Just never thought I'd be learning about Sandgropers on the HAMB LOL. Sent from my INE-LX2 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Cool. My first V8 was a HT Prem with a 327 which I then swapped with a 350. Gotta love the old Munro's though! Sent from my INE-LX2 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Thanks Spoggie. Yeah the avatar is my car but love the older stuff a bunch too. Sent from my INE-LX2 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Ended up with a tunnel rammed 350 in mine after the 327 died. Paid $1200 for rust free licensed car with good paint n interior. Would be $120,000 now.
Yeah it's amazing what the old stuff is worth now. Sent from my INE-LX2 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Not at present, my Cougar's been off the road for quite a while due to time constraints but I'd love to get back into that when I can. That's kinda why I joined the HAMB, try to get my priorities back in order. How about yourself? Sent from my INE-LX2 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Was looking for an old Holden, couldn't believe the prices for junk. Found my avatar , 59 Simca Vedette by accident and price was great. European stuff is heaps cheaper than yank or Aussie stuff. It's cool as well as its the only full licence done in Western Australia. Never another one at car shows and gets a lot of interest. Shit to get parts though. All mechanicals are vn and vk commodore which makes it easier.
