    Happy Friday, everyone!

My name is Cynthia, and I'm one of three sisters-in-law trying to restore an old car. We had this idea that we would buy an old car, and try to restore it ourselves, using nothing but the internet as our guide, and creating a weekly video blog of our efforts.

We shared this idea with my former boss, who is a Ford Falcon owner and enthusiast. He shared our idea with another Falcon owner, and that very nice gentleman offered to donate a 62 Ranchero to our project. We named her, Millennium, or Milly for short.

The three of us has no real experience working on cars, other than occasionally holding a flashlight for our husbands while they fix something. Fortunately, we've started a bit of a community on facebook, where helpful people weigh in on what we're doing. We've met some pretty fantastic folks at swap meets, online, and even at our local auto-parts store. Everyone has been extremely generous with advice and information...and encouragement. This forum seems like a great source as well, so I'm excited to explore it.

Anyway, here's a picture of Milly, and a link to our latest "episode."

Nice to meet you all, and thanks for reading!

Welcome "GIRLS". Sounds like a lot of work and a lot of fun.
Some advice.....whatever you were grinding or scraping while wearing the face mask and glasses, please wear some good protective goggles.
Your eyes are very valuable in many ways.;)
Lizzie, my wife went as "Tin Lizzie" when I was on CB radios.

Thanks Everybody! We absolutely protected our eyes. I had glasses, goggles, and a face shield, but it still didn't quite seem like enough.

  11. Welcome. What a great group of gals! Good luck with the Ranchero build. I'm very impressed with your tenacity and willingness to leap head first into something you're not familiar with. This will be a tremendous experience for all of you and I will be eagerly following the progress.........................................................Don.:)

So when it comes to driving the Falcon, you going to flip a coin or fight it out?

Can't help but believe you'll really come up with something great with the combination of ideas between you.

    Welcome from Maryland and enjoy the HAMB ! ! ! ! !

Hahaha that's awesome. My uncle (he was big into building hot rods) actually used to call me that as a little kid running around his shop. :)

    Howdy, Ladies!
My first car was a '61 Fordor that I bought from my brother-in-law, who got it from Southwestern Bell, (remember them?). I had over 425,000 miles on it when a drunk hit it.
Wish I had it now. I loved that little beast.
I can hardly wait to see it when you're done. Good luck and have a lot of fun!

So if we're doing things three or four times, we must be REALLY right! Thanks, everybody, for the nice welcomes and tips! We're pretty excited to learn a few (several hundred) things.

  24. Well, this is just cool as hell! Welcome. You might want to start a thread on the main page to post your progress and links to your videos. I'll subscribe for sure! If you have questions, ask 'em. We're on the Interweb so it wouldn't be cheatin'. There's a lot of knowledge here and we do pretty good at helping each other out here but sometimes we can be a little rough around the edges. Hope you don't mind (not talking about me, of course, it's those other guys. I'm very refined.)
