Just getting started on a 36 Ford Tudor .I'm probably going to have more questions than answers .I'm trying to decide which way to go,S10 or Ranger frame, SBC or SBF, or flathead and stock frame.

    Hey there, welcome

I would go with the original frame even if you modify it.

Any if the engines will work.

Well the original frame has some issues with holes. The holes are just before the rear axle kickup. Where the x member attaches.I've bought the frame patch panels but they don't come close to following the contour of the frame.

Nothing ever fits first time. To get those to fit is still easier than a frame swap

  11. I have fixed(fish plated) a couple of these frames...not a big deal; much better than trying a Ranger or S10 swap...they usually look hacked especially in the wheel well areas...you can search CraigList for a frame that's better than yours...usually a couple hundred bucks or less..my 2 cents
