Hello to the throngs of the HAMB!

I've been in and out of here at times over the last few years and decided it was time to make an account. I've been ramping back up on my car again and finding that i have a lot to figure out.

My sled is a 1958 plymouth belvedere 2dr hardtop that i pulled out of a junkyard in an undisclosed part of colorado in 2004. It had been parked in late 1966 with a blown up powerflight (it was taken apart and scattered about the car). Here is how i found it. It had no front spindles as someone had torched them off somewhere along the way. Weird.

So, as you might imagine with a forward look car thats sat as long as it did, its got a bit of a rust problem and i've gotten stripped down to bare chassis to replace the floor/rockers/pass side trunk/trunk extension/lower quarter. Sadly stripping is as far as i've gotten, and its been sitting for a few years :(

In the time it has sat i've accumulated some nice things for it however.
A 60k mile 392 hemi from a 1958 New Yorker that i used to daily. I have a Hot Heads intake for it already :D I'd love to megasquirt it.
Factory A/C box (firewall mods needed to fit, bubye summer air door) w/ factory controls added to the car. I hate to say it but im thinking a sanden compressor painted in the style of the factory generator.

Thankfully i've found some time and money to get back at it. Right now Im on the hunt for an A518 so i can make it fit when i do the floors. I've also undertaken the herculean task of cleaning all of the sporttone inserts and the tail lights. Its a lot of area to clean with a sonicare toothbrush and brasso.

    Enjoy the pics.

Welcome to the jungle. Thanks for posting the pics. Interesting project! There's a CO social group that's somewhat active with local events that might be of interest.
