What a difference a set of wheels and tires make. I dont feel like I'm driving a street rod anymore. Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics. Trim rings and center caps going on later..

Spider caps are nice but I have 5x5.5 bolt pattern in the rear. DOH! they dont make those... Maybe could do some bullet lugs and push thru bullets..

    Thanks Jolopy Joker..

Hey that looks really good. It is amazing how the tire/wheel combo changes a look of any car, custom, or hot rod. I'd say go with the 49 merc dog disk cap, if you wheel has provision or maybe some other make wheelcovers from 49-54.

did you change the stance of the car at all either...it looks like the front sits a little higher now and less raked

  9. Wheels and tires can make or break any vehicle. I did the same thing to my 49 Chevy pu. When I bought it, it came with 15x8 ralleys and "way too big" black walls. I changed them out to original style powder coated wheels with no center caps or rings and Firestone wide whites first thing. Gave it a whole different attitude.

The front is higher now because i went from the short 235/60/15 radial to the Much taller G78-15 Bias tires. The truck has TCI 4 Link out back. I lowerd the rear one inch by droping the coil over to the lowest mounting hole. Theres 3 holes to adjust the rear in 1 inch increments.

Huge improvement.................it just went from something I wouldnt even bother to stop and look at to something I'd love to have in my driveway. BTW, three window Chevy's are 114% cooler than five windows and dont let anyone tell you otherwise.

I like it allot also and no caps seems to work or a full cap say '54 Merc or '55/56 Old standards (no spinner).

You dont need spiders, get bullets for the center Hole and put Chrome bullet Lugnuts on it... alot cheaper instead of finding original odd sized spiders. or just go with the bullet lugnuts, would look good too.

Its setup with a Heidts Mustang 2 with 2 inch Drop Spindles. It actually has some spacers on the front right now but I think I'm gonna take them off because the wheels dont sit inward as far as I thought they would.

Heck yea! Alliance Rules! I picked them up at the local Fresno Coker store. They kick ass by the way. I had them mount and balance them for me. They scrubbed off the blue stuff and gave a me free bottle of the white wall cleaner too. Great customer service.

That is a nice look. Are you running the G78-15 on the rear as well?

I've got G's on the front and H78-15 on the rear.

A thin ribbed ring with chrome lugnuts make a Black wheel look smooth. I like your truck and was planning on doing the same combo on my '56 GMC
